Craigslist being put to good use

Dear Jennifer,

Why are assholes so hilarious? Dr. House, Barney Stinson, they're awesome!

As someone who pushes the buttons of people who advertise on Craigslist, this guy definitely fits in with the Dickbag Group, and we all get to enjoy the results.

Practice makes pretty.

Dear Meredith:

Is all this time typing on computers affecting your handwriting? Here are some handy pointers on how to make the hand-printed word more legible - just in time for all your holiday cards!

Chicken and the Egg Rap Battle

A friend of mine is in a very hilarious show called "Lost Moon Radio" that has new material every three months, and plays on the second floor of an awesome little bar. One of the best sketches on the show was the Chicken v. Egg rap battle (in the style of "8 Mile")

For your listening pleasure, here is the sound file. It is awesome. (R rated, fyi)

Darths and Droids

Dear Jennifer,

My newest webcomic obsession is a fake Dungeons and Dragons quest through the Star Wars movies. The jokes are aplenty and well deserved. The best part is that this is the guy tells his story using screen captions from the movies. It is all too easy to find a screen caption of an actor looking goofy. Awesome.

Hilarious and dirrrrrrty webcomic

Dear Jennifer,

The webcomic "Something Positive" is based in Boston - so I assume you already know of its existence? If not, prepare to fall in love with the potty-mouthed heroines.

Another addictive webcomic!

Dear Jennifer,
I almost dropped off the Earth, I became so obsessed with the Order of the Stick webcomic (Ethan bought me the game for my birthday). But long before I loved OOTS, I was a big fan of Questionable Content. It's kind of like "Friends" as a webcomic, only younger, and with more geek pop culture. And it's got a semi-murderous robot character called Pintsize!!!

I heart Pintsize

An addictive webcomic!

Dear Jennifer,

I know you may not truck much in the world of role-playing games, but a hardcore D 'n' D friend of mine has recently turned me on to the webstrip ORDER OF THE STICK.

Even if you do not understand all of the game references, it still becomes a highly entertaining and addictive story.

More poetry!

Dear Jennifer,

If it's good enough for Christopher Walken to promote on his Twitter page, then it's good enough for us.

XKCD for thee!

Dear Jennifer,

What you need in your life is the joy that can only be brought by a webcomic that is a combination of "Romance, Sarcasm, Math and Language."

Enjoy

Discussion topics that actually entertain

Dear Jennifer,

I don't often recommend personal blogs that only serve to publish an individual's opinions. However, I'm really digging "Brad's Ideas" as a well-written blog. He discusses his thoughts on things from the Bailout to Battlestar Galactica. His op/ed pieces are brief and well-educated. I'm especially a fan of his BSG critiques.

Have you started watching BSG? Do I need to remind you of its awesomeness?!

Go ahead and check out BRAD'S IDEAS for more goodness.

The lore of Rape Bear

This is a funny website authored by a screenwriter out here in LA that "teaches" readers how to write for film and tv using ridiculously hilarious examples, and creates fantasy scenarios in screenplay format. By far one of the funniest is his pitch to Spielberg of his original work "RapeBear." Scroll down to "On Follow Up Calls" for the Rape Bear tale. (And there are quite a few others that are also entertaining, spend some good procrastinatey time poking around). In case you can't tell - none of this advice is actually helpful. For entertainment purposes only.

Holy crap, amazingness for free!

Wizard Magazine is one of my all-time faves. It has gossip, rumors, and critiques of all things comics (including upcoming movies and shows based on comics) and often throws non-comic Sci Fi and Fantasy in for good measure. It also has a lot of fun editorial pieces. I was going to look into prices for a new subscription and DISCOVERED THAT A LOT OF THEIR GOODNESS IS FREE ONLINE!

Prepare to be entertained for hours:

And now, for a little culture

Poetry used to be a dying art. But with the glory of the interwebs, poets work can be published, shared and viewed at low cost to "publishers" resulting in wonderful websites like this one. Every day there is a new poem, so you can always check back in and search the history when you need a little beauty in your day. Send a love poem to that special someone! The best ones can be found here. Special thanks to Leslie for the find!

The trouble with time travelers...

This is a hilarious short fiction piece from ABYSS & APEX - a collection of short science fiction works. This is my all time favorite entry - an argument in a chat room between time travelers and whether or not they're allowed to kill Hitler.
