A little bit of whimsy for your Friday.

Dear Meredith:

It's Friday! Since it's probably a slow day at work, take the time to watch Le Ballon Rouge, or The Red Balloon, which won the Palme d'Or at Cannes in 1956.

Dear Jennifer,

Cliff's Notes may be out of a job. Twitter could be the new way to synopsize classic works of literature.

Hungry?

Dear Meredith:

Bored at work? Have leftovers from lunch? Do what this intrepid soul did, and scan in your sandwiches. Just make sure to wipe the glass clean afterwards.

There's just something so relaxing about the surf.

Dear Meredith:

Oh, how I wish I was at the beach right now. But it's only Wednesday. Then again, I work from home - what's keeping me from leaving? Since you're stuck at work though, enjoy these gorgeous photographs from Christian Chaize, who has taken pictures of the same beaches in Portugal from the same angle over an extended period of time. The photos are just lovely.

Perfect balance
